L-R: R.I Jinadu, Enitan Olukotun, Beneficiaries of Food Pack Palliative
The Media aide to Senator Mikhail Adetokunbo Abiru, Enitan Olukotun informed journalists at the constituency office in Ikorodu how marvelous his boss has been during the distribution of food pack palliatives to households in Lagos East Senatorial District organised to marked his 60th birthday.
Enitan opined that Senator Tokunbo Abiru deliberately decided not to have any serious social activities or party whatsoever in marking his diamond jubilee birthday, but rather to give out food packs to over ten thousand households across his constituency in cushioning the effect of economic hardship on them.
Newsconnect reports that the senator did this on his birthday to replicate his quarterly interventions across Lagos East Senatorial District.
Enitan said apart from sharing food packs to vulnerable people in Lagos East Senatorial District, the impacts the Chairman Senate committee on banking, Insurance and other financial institution has made with his legislative role, empowerment and facilitation of projects are second to none.
In an interview with Newsconnect at the event, he said;
“We are here because our amiable Senator is clocking 60th today and he has decided not to have any social activities or party whatsoever but rather he is giving out to the people.
“He is giving back to ten thousand household across Lagos East Senatorial District. They will receive food packs.
“He is replicating what he has been doing every quarter. Every three three months he has been reaching out to people all across Lagos East Senatorial District.
“We are in the month of Ramadan for the Muslims and the Lenten season for the Christian. Couple with the economic hardship, the Senator thought the best thing he could do is to find a way to alleviate people’s plight and making live more comfortable for his people.
“For the Senator to have been consistent in doing this, it shows the kind of heart he has for the people, how he loves his people and empathize with them even at this difficult period that we have found ourselves as a nation.
“The Senator has been very marvellous. Is it what he has been doing in terms of his legislative role, is it in terms of empowerment and facilitation of projects, look at the Ikorodu Itoikin road, the 32km road was built in 1975 by Gowon, and it has never received the massive touch it has been receiving now.
“People who ply that road are praying and thanking the Senator for facilitating that. These are the kind of lasting impact that will stimulate economic activities and stimulate prosperity for our people.
“If you talk about the Iconic SAIL Innovation Lab, it is a project we are proud of that the Senator has done. 40 bed hospital as LASUSTECH, 30 bed hospital at Isiwu in Ikorodu North LCDA, Another 30 bed hospital at Mascara health centre in Agboyi Ketu in Kosofe ditto for schools all round.
“Sport facilities, mini stadia, transformers to over 25 communities, and others. We have all the records and facts out there. Before now, over 150 million naira has been disbursed to people under COVID 19 relief support scheme that we had.
“Those are the things we are talking about, we can always do more, people should always expect more from the Senator.
“Those that are yet to get, we believe they will get, it is a matter of time. It is a random intervention, we can’t give to all at once. The table would turn and they will get.
