The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has sought the cooperation and understanding of residents of Omilade Street, Mafoluku Oshodi as reconstruction work is bid to commence on the street.

The council chairman, represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Smart Akinleye at a stakeholders meeting at Omilade street held on Monday, 13 May, 2024 to acquaint the residents of plans to commence work, assured that reconstruction of the street will begin on Wednesday, 15 May, 2024.

He said the reconstruction work when commenced would be completed on record time.

Residents were informed that contractor will move to site in few days time and were implored to remove any object that might disturb the flow of work. Container owners were urged to move their containers backwards as well as vehicle owners to park their vehicles elsewhere pending the conclusion of the project.

Otunba Oloyede disclosed that the road is part of the 114 roads to be carried out by the Lagos State government in partnership with local governments and local council development areas in the state.

He said; “we are here today to firstly appreciate our residents for their understanding and patience. The construction of this road will commence in few days time and we would not want any form of disturbance. The shop, vehicle owners and other items that might disturb the flow of work should be removed.

The inconveniences is for a limited time and for greater good. We don’t want any negative report of being disturbed by the contractors upon their arrival. We appeal for your maximum cooperation for a seamless work.”

Also in the stakeholders meeting was the Councillor representing Mafoluku Ward, Hon. Kazeem Abayomi; Chief of Staff, Hon. Leke Banjoko; APC chairman, Hon. Animashaun Saheed; representative of the Council Manager and Council human resources officer, Alhaja Sekinat Ojodu.

Others include supervisory councillors, Special Advisers, CPS and CDC chairman representative and vice chairman the CDC, Alhaji Ajibulu and host of others.
