Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon

The House unanimously agreed during Tuesday’s plenary that stepping up security measures is crucial to safeguarding commuters and residents alike. For this reason, the Assembly decided to call on the Commissioner of Police and the Neighborhood Watch to step up their efforts and curb the activities of these miscreants.

The resolution followed a Matter of Urgent Public Importance raised by the distinguished lawmaker, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon representing Kosofe 01, who decried the unlawful extortion of stranded motorists by miscreants, which demand urgent attention.

The lawmaker highlighted the increasing number of miscreants who are targeting commuters, snatching belongings, and instilling fear on major roads throughout the state.

Hon. Okanlawon noted that there is an urgent need to curb the unlawful activities of these individuals. If left unchecked, they could render the State unsafe.
