The Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is thrilled to announce the Ikosi-Isheri Ketu Magodo Annual Cultural Carnival 2024, scheduled for Saturday, 26th October, and Sunday, 27th October 2024. With the theme “Our Heritage, Our Pride: A Celebration of Culture and Unity,” this year’s event promises a vibrant showcase of the rich cultural diversity of Ikosi-Isheri and beyond.

This year’s Face of the Carnival is Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, whose presence adds great prestige to the celebration. Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu will also be in attendance, as the carnival aligns with his administration’s commitment to culture and tourism.
The Ikosi-Isheri Cultural Carnival will serve as a strategic platform to promote tourism and culture, key pillars of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda. This carnival aligns with the fourth agenda of the THEMES+ strategy, focusing on Entertainment and Tourism. One of the core objectives of the event is to reflect the vibrant culture, growth, and shared experiences that make Lagos unique.
The Chief Host, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, emphasized the significance of the carnival, saying:
“Our carnival is not just a celebration of tradition but also a tool for community growth and unity. We invite all residents and visitors to join us in showcasing our cultural heritage while contributing to the state’s tourism agenda.”
The event will also attract key political leaders, business tycoons, youth bodies, and stakeholders from across Lagos State, positioning it as a crucial event for fostering both cultural pride and economic opportunities in the region.
