In recognition of his selfless service and impact to positively touch lives, United Nation affiliate has honoured the Eze Ndigbo of Ejigbo land , Ambassador Nicholas Njoku, the ‘Eze Ezioku bun du’ with a diplomatic passport and a special vehicle plate number.
Newsconnect reports that International Society of Diplomat gave him the award to further encourage him to go to places and make more impacts in the lives of the people.
The representative of United Nation who doubles as the Lagos State director for IPAC Ambassador Amb. Bishop Dr Prince C. Nkemakolam said the award given to him his worth celebrating, hence the reason they have come to honour him and celebrate him the same time.
In an interview with news men at the event, the awardee, His Royal Majesty Ambassador Nicholas Njoku said the award is a call for more responsibilities and to further spur him to make more impacts in the lives of the people.
In his own words, he said;
“I have greater responsibility ahead of me so I need more composition, more determination and more focusness to ensure I move forward.
“If you work with knowledge, you will be limited, but if you work with God you will be unlimited. This calls for more closeness to the lord, to seek his wisdom, his grace and mercy.
“Even if you have all the wisdom and knowledge without good health, you are going no where. So I need to draw more close to God and be more humbled, to the community.
“My plan of action going forward is to bring peace between Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa because this community comprises of these three ethnic groups which we’ve been doing for years back.
“I want to ensure I exhibit actions that would bring peace between the ethnic group in my community”.
Ambassador Njoku said truth is life which predicated why he got the alias Eziokubundu.
“It is the peace that brings development, we will continue be preaching peace, by saying the truth without minding whose ox is gored.
“If you are protecting your tribe alone, you will be limited and there will be no peace. I must do more work, more advocacy for unity, peace and truth among the Igbos”. Njoku said.
Ambassador Njoku charged Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to see every Nigerian as one. He said he should look inward so as to know the problems of the nation. “Without peace and unity, we can’t move forward”. He said.
The Ogbotemba one of Ipere land and the Eze Ndigbo of Ikeja Eze Uche Dimgba talked about the importance of the award bestowed on his colleague in an interview with journalists.
In his words, he said;
“We the Igbos travel a lot. One of us has been picked as ambassador for United nation. One good turn deserves another that is why we have come to celebrate him.
“He is trying to work according to dictates of United nation. Trying to put poverty out of the world. He has been doing this and United nations found him worthy, to be bestowed with this title.
“We are happy with him, we ask God to continue to give him strength to do good things for Nigeria and the world in general”. He said
