The theme for 2024 6th Annual World Omoluabi Festival was Yoruba Agenda.
The convener, Aremo Oladotun Hassan said the Yoruba’s has jettisoned their culture, so this day is used as a reminder to preserve Yoruba culture.
He said all what they are doing emanated from Ike-Ife. That they have ratified Yoruba Agenda. Unity in Nigeria is paramount.
In an interview with journalists at the event, he said;
“Ooni, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi who is the Arole Olofin Adimula endorsed and approved today for all Yoruba and Oduduwa descendants globally to appreciate and acknowledge this date as our world national day of reckoning for all Yoruba indigenous people.
“That is why the Yoruba Council took it upon ourselves as a registered body under cooperate affairs commissioning and we have started this job since 18th March 1999 and we have come along way to advocate for the Yoruba development agenda.
“We believe in united Federal Republic of Nigeria. We believe in progressive development and emancipation of our constitution. From Military infested Abdul Salami’s constitution to having a new peoples constitution.
“As a constitutional lawyer I believe strongly that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should do the needful to end the old military infested constitution. Being the giant of Africa, the constitution is not a standard. That is why we are using this opportunity to condemn those that are raising the Yoruba agitation.
“The Oduduwa nation led by Onitiri Abiola, Sunday Igboho and Professor Akintoye to douse this and end this anomaly. It is high time we rally the president who is from our land.
“We are not using this to cause any ethnic attrition, but to let the President knows he is a President for all Nigerians. Enough of ethnic bigotry, enough of political acrimony, that is really affecting our development and that is why the President must focused to end the Perennial fuel scarcity”. He said.
Dignitaries at the event include; Queen Olajumoke Elegbede, Ade Emmanuel, Oba Lanbe Adebisi, Chief Mrs Sarah, Oba Ariwajoye among others.
