The Director General (DG) Awesu 2025 Independent Campaign Council Olakunle Oluwatosin said it is not going to be business as usual by the time Abdul Azeez Awesu Adekunle, the candidate of Labour party emerge as Ikorodu Chairman, he said they have suffered a lot, hence, there will be a radical departure from the past.
Newsconnect reports that Olakunle made this assertion at the medical outreach organized by Awesu for over 150 aged men and women in his ward at Obun Ale in Ikorodu local government.

He said the health outreach intervention wasn’t organised basically because of this election that prior to this time, QS Awesu has been doing a whole lot in the community.
In an interview with Newsconnect correspondence at the event said;
“It has nothing to do with an election, this is what he does on a regular basis.

“We have suffered enough in Ikorodu, we have seen the failure of the ruling party,
we are new breed, we have something new to offer.
“It is going to be a radical departure from the past, we have seen what they can do, we want to show them what we can do. Whatever we promise, we are saying we are going to keep our words.

“The Chairman has a Transformation Agenda that cuts across Education, Security, Transportation. A road map designed to transform Ikorodu Local government in the next four years.
“By the grace of God if we resume office on the 15th of July 2025, everybody should go to bed. They would start seeing action ! Action ! QS is a grassroot politician, he is well loved, well known in Ikorodu.
“No matter what is happening at the National level as far as the party is concerned, be rest assured we are on ground and on top of the situation. The participants should go and vote enmasse Awesu, they should stay to protect their votes. They should vote the logo of papa, mama, pikin”. He said
Honourable Abdul Azeez Awesu Adekunle said the health outreach is not going to be one-off that there is still going to be about 2 to 3 more health outreaches activity they will embark on in various wards in Ikorodu Central.
“This is just one of them, more to come.
Despite the massive rain, about 150 benefitted from the test.
“We had series of tests, urinary analysis, Malaria, and a whole lot. They met with doctor, they had consultation with the doctor to examine the result of their tests. Some of them have been referred for further diagnosis, while some of them we buy drugs for and take it up from there.
“The name Awesu is a household name in Ikorodu, there is no place you go in Ikorodu that people don’t know Awesu. We are practically on ground, we have our councilors in each of the ward.
“We are going to have an orientation and reorientation exercise , because a lot of people think they know but they don’t. The logo of the party, what their rights are on the day of election. There are some plans and activities put in place regards that day, am sure when the time comes, we are going to put it out for everyone to see. The sensitisation exercise is going to be happening on a particular day and apart from that, we have other digital channels Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram that we send messages through to intimate people on what they need to do on election day.”
