At the Waleematu an-Neekah ceremony of the wife and Son of the Federal Lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber in the National Assembly, Honourable Kafilat Ogbara, the groom’s mother charged the couples to be faithful, loyal and honest to each other regardless of what life circumstances throw at them.
Newsconnect reports that Honourable Kafilat Ogbara gave this charge in an interview with Journalists after Sharia court of appeal in Kwara state issued Marriage certificate to Abdul Baasit Ogbara and Raabihah from the family of late Imam Ayub & Alhaja Fatima Muhammad at an even center in Lagos.
Considering the covalent bond that usually exists between Mother and Son from birth till adulthood, Ogbara shared with journalists how she feels consenting to the union of her son and his love.
In her own words, she said;
“Alihamdulilah, I give all the glory to almighty Allah for making this day possible. My son Abdul Basit got married to Rabiah. We are blessed to have the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria ably represented by the Vice President Alhaji Kassim Shettima. Of course my Governor was represented by his wife and the Governor of Ogun State. Am thankful to lots of other well meaning Nigerians, Ministers, Senators, National Assembly members, and everybody. Am so elated and humbled and I thank Almighty Allah for making this day a glorious day.
Alihamdulilah, I am over thirty years in Marriage, My Husband Alhaji Lukman Ogbara is also here with us and our Children.
“The same man I married from my childhood is the one am still with today, I thank God on behalf of my family. I will always charge the couple to be patient with one another. To continue to love one another.
“In marriage, different circumstances will come up. No matter the circumstance, your ability to love one another is very important, they should continue to love one another. No matter your level, no matter your status, love your husband, love your wife.
“When that love is there and you are patient with one another, everything will fall in place and of course the fear of God is the beginning of everything and the end.
“When you have the fear of God, you pray together, you do everything together and if you are truthful to one another, and you are honest to one another, I think the sky would be the limit.
“When you are not there, your husband knows where you are and he is rest assured you are good and vice versa.
“You have to be patient, love each other and have the fear of God in your marriage. Continue to pray to God, continue to do all the deeds that God has said you should do, and restrain from the ones he said we should not do.
“He can’t be wrong when he says do this and you are doing it and when he says don’t do this, and you don’t do it. You will see how your life will materialise if obedient to the word of God”. She said
One of the cleric said you can’t see a perfect woman, that men serve God through women which includes building their capacity rather than abusing them.
In his word, he said;
“You must exercise sufficient patience with woman. You must have empathy for women. Sometimes women can frustrate you, but don’t be overwhelmed with it. They are helpmates.
“Whoever takes care of women will inherit the gesture in this world and in the hereafter and vice versa”. He said.
