
At the 3rd day of the commissioning of 20 transformational projects in Ikosi-Isheri by the Mayoress of the council LCDA, Former Executive Secretary of the council Honourable Afolabi Kazeem, Babaloja of Ikosi Chief Lanbe Dauda among others, gave kudos to the giant strides of Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada since she assumed the Chairman of the LCDA.
Newsconnect gathered that on the 3rd day of the commissioning 16th April 2025, six additional roads which include Oba Onikosi Drive, Atinmo, Olabisi Balogun street, Ogunkoya street, and Adeyomoye street today 16th April 2025 were also commissioned.

In an interview with Honourable ABK at the event, he said:
“It is a very good development, it is a progressive development that she is embarking on. Roads that are not good, she is attending to them. Hospitals that are not good, she is attending to them. Progressing and making them more beautiful and accommodating.
“This is what government process is all about and this is very good and we will continue to encourage her. We pray to almighty God to support her so that she can do more.
Honourable ABK in his response to his expectation from Mayoress if she gets the ticket for the second term and the impact of local government financial autonomy on her governance in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, he said;
“She should embark on development of schools, more primary health centers, sports development for the youths, football and all other games.
“We will continue to encourage her, we wouldl sit down with her, see areas that needed more development and we will support her to do more.
“With the local government financial autonomy, more money would come and more internal generated revenue.
“When they have more money, they should be able to work more. It is good to have people oriented and progressive people around you. They would encourage you and advice you to do what people want.
“We are not politician that will be encouraging people to take government money, to be sharing government money. That is not our concern.
“Our concern is let us help the community by doing what the community wants. Let us spend government money where we are supposed to spend it”.

The Baba oja of Ikosi told journalists at the commissioning of Oba Onikosi drive that;
“40 years ago, this road is not motorable. It wasn’t in good state. We informed previous local government leadership in Ikosi Isheri to help fix the road, but they didn’t.
“On one hand, Princess Samiat took up the responsibility when we informed her and here we are commissioning the road. She told us the commercial activities of the axis is paramount to her.
“She told us as soon as she finishes the construction of market, she would help fix the road. She first embarked on first phase, then later the second phase”.
