The Vice President,Nigerian Association Of Social and Resourceful Editors, NASRE, Idumosa
Iyiomee representing the President of the Association, Mr Femi Oyewale, disclosed that the needs of Journalists aren’t taken into consideration, despite how they rigorously put their lives in line to unravel hidden truths in the country.
“The media industry is so unrewarding, despite the dangers we face while delegating our duties,The financial gain is incomparable to the rigorous activities that Journalists put in place to ensure effective journalism”.
He also stressed on the Association’s unwavering commitment to acknowledge the efforts of past, present journalists even the decreased through financial and other vital support.
The Vice President, NASRE also called on the federal government and multilateral and corporate organizations to financially key into this vision in order to ensure its goals are fully actualized.
Head Research & Development, NSIA Insurance Mr Muritala Muhammed, representing the M.D, Murruf APAPA while acknowledging the great commitment of the Association towards this vision, unveiled its company’s continuous interest in partnership with NASRE towards this project.
He further educated the attendees on insurance and its importance in our daily lives as he highlighted basic products solutions to tackle unforeseen circumstances.
Sensitizing Journalists on fact based news Writing and Objectivity, Barr . Damilola Towogbola encouraged them to rigorously verify News and accredit their source before publishing as this would serve as concrete evidence in case of unforeseen circumstances that involve the court.
He also pledged free health insurance to three beneficiaries of the event.
Speaking on other sources of income for journalists, Editor, Omonaija Blog , Mr Shaba Gbenga thoroughly educated Journalists on Agriculture and other related businesses, urging them to key into these business now that they are young instead of waiting till their retirement age.
