The Rivers State Police Command has cautioned against the act of collecting transport fare from men without honouring visits, describing it as a criminal offence.

Speaking in a video, the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, said the practice amounts to obtaining money under false pretence, commonly known as “419” in Nigerian parlance.

‎She said: “Why would you collect transport fare from a man without going to see him? It’s an offence, a punishable offence. It’s obtaining money under false pretences, 419.

‎”I am here to give you this piece of information because I am your number one bestie. My name is SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Police Command.”
