The General Overseer , The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has provided counsel to Christians on how to handle Situations that involves Church Leaders who rejects tithes.
He shared his perspective on the ongoing controversial issue of tithing which has sparked debate among Christians, during the RCCG October Holy Ghost Service.
The General Overseer encouraged Christians to move beyond debates on tithing and seek constructive solutions when encountering non-compliant pastors.
He made reference to a recent sermon by one of his pastors who criticised tithing, noting that it could cause misunderstanding among congregants.
“I want to beg everyone all over the world. Let this argument about tithe come to an end, please,”.
He also urged believers not to neglect their churches if church leaders decline tithes but create an alternative giving through offerings.
Pastor Adeboye suggested that those who strongly believe in tithing should consider joining a church that aligns with their convictions.
“Don’t leave the church because your pastor accepts only offering and refuses tithe ,then give through offerings but if you have a conviction about giving God at least 10 per cent of your earnings , then you find a church nearby where the pastor says, ‘We can collect tithe, we will use it for the glory of God,’ give that pastor your tithe so that you don’t quarrel with your pastor, and you don’t quarrel with God.”
In Conclusion, The General Overseer issued an apology and revised his earlier claims that tithing was a prerequisite for entering heaven.
