..he emphasizes constructive dialogue amidst national tensions
In response to the growing unrest and planned protests across the country, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, has issued a call for calm and constructive dialogue among the youth of Kosofe and Lagos State at large.
Speaking from the Local Government Secretariat, Chairman Ogunlewe acknowledged the challenges facing the nation but emphasized the importance of peaceful discourse in addressing these issues. “We understand the frustrations of our young people,” he stated. “However, we must remember that sustainable progress can only be achieved through peaceful means and open communication.”
The Chairman highlighted his administration’s commitment to youth development in Kosofe. “Since taking office, we have prioritized initiatives that empower our youth. We have been actively working on programmes that will create more opportunities for skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, and employment within our local government area.”
Addressing the planned protests, Ogunlewe urged caution: “While we respect the right to peaceful assembly, we must also consider the potential risks in our current climate. I implore our youth to explore alternative methods of expressing their concerns. My office is always open for dialogue, and we are committed to listening and responding to the needs of our young residents.”
The Chairman also called for patience with the federal government’s economic policies. “Change takes time, and the current administration is working hard to implement reforms that will benefit all Nigerians. In Kosofe, we are aligning our local initiatives with national policies to ensure maximum impact for our residents.”
The local government reaffirms its dedication to transparent governance and youth-inclusive development, promising to keep communication channels open with all stakeholders in Kosofe.
