The Governor of Lagos state, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu today, attended a meeting at the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria with representatives from the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC).
The discussions focused on the importance of the cotton industry to Nigeria’s economy, addressing current challenges, and exploring future opportunities.
Cotton farming is an important sector in Nigeria and across Africa. It contributes largely to the agricultural sector and contributes to the economic development of many rural communities.
It is noteworthy that cotton fibres are primarily used in the textile industry to produce various fabrics and garments. The discussions will progress in the days ahead.
