As Nigeria marks 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has congratulated Nigerians on this historic milestone.
Oloyede, in a statement released by his media office in commemoration of Democracy Day, described June 12 as a symbol of the resilience, sacrifice, and collective will of the Nigerian people to uphold democratic values.
He urged Nigerians to continue to promote unity and peaceful coexistence, stressing that democracy can only thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect, tolerance, and national solidarity.
“As we celebrate over two decades of sustained democracy, we must reflect on how far we’ve come and recommit ourselves to building a more just, inclusive, and prosperous nation,” the Chairman stated.
The Oshodi-Isolo Council honcho also called for continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the President’s bold and strategic decisions are already yielding positive results across critical sectors of the economy.
He said, “Though the journey has not been without challenges, the reforms being implemented at the national level are laying the foundation for long-term growth and stability.”
He concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to good governance, grassroots development, and democratic accountability in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government.
