The Nigeria Police Force is set to hold a significant passing-out parade for 10,000 recruit constables who have successfully completed their training across various institutions nationwide. This landmark event underscores the Force’s commitment to enhancing its workforce for improved security and effective policing across Nigeria.
The graduation ceremony will take place today, Thursday, January 23, 2025, at four Police Colleges and 12 Training Schools across the country. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, will serve as the reviewing officer for the event.
The newly trained constables underwent comprehensive physical and mental training, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle the complex security challenges facing the nation. Their training emphasized professionalism, integrity, and adherence to the rule of law, ensuring they are prepared to meet the expectations of modern policing.
Speaking ahead of the event, the IGP expressed confidence in the readiness of the graduating constables to contribute meaningfully to the Force’s mission of safeguarding lives and property. He noted that their deployment across various state commands will enhance community engagement, crime response, and overall public safety.
“With this new addition to our workforce, we are optimistic about improved service delivery, strengthened community relations, and better crime prevention efforts,” IGP Egbetokun stated.
Following the ceremony, the constables will be posted to state commands nationwide, where they will bolster local policing efforts and support initiatives to foster safer communities.
The Force Headquarters, under the leadership of IGP Egbetokun, continues to prioritize the recruitment and training of capable personnel to meet the evolving security needs of the country.
This development marks a significant stride in the Nigeria Police Force’s quest to maintain peace, order, and security across the nation.
