Princess Folashade Olabanji Oba

The National Chairman Association of Local Government Vice Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman Ikorodu local government Aarebirin Dr Princess Folashade Olabanji Oba among other things has charged young persons in Ikorodu division to change the narrative and bridge the gap now that the value system has changed.

Newsconnect reports that Folashade in an interview with journalists at the event reiterated some of the key points made by Honourable Babajimi Benson during the inspiring moment with the lawmaker at the youth assembly.

She emphasized on aligning Ikorodu with the Federal and not limited to Lagos State.

The 2025 Ikorodu Division Youth Assembly was dubbed “Keying Ikorodu Division into Lagos State 2052 Development Plan “.

” One thing i see as a keynote here is Ikorodu aligning with the federal not limited to Lagos State. For us, it is a global Ikorodu. The best of Ikorodu to the world. You must not despise the days of your humble begining. So changing the narratives to owning our place, occupying our place and knowing that the true dividend of democracy that we all laboured for in Ikorodu Federal Constituency needs to come back home.

“Moments like this are priceless because the future is here. Back in the days, we say the youths are leaders of tomorrow. The value system has dropped and we all need to do something fast to making sure we bridge that gap.

“You cant give what you don’t have. Character, value system, the morals are also very important. Everybody wants instant gratification. Back in the days we were talking about process. There used to be a process but right now, is like now now now.

“When you do that, you miss the in between. It will be difficult to survive and sustain because you didn’t build gradually. Ipray that our youths would listen and emulate the role models like Jennifer, the chess master who are making their marks as indigenes of Ikorodu.

“No pain no gain. No quick corners, I don’t so much align with that. There is dignity in labour, that is what we were taught growing up and it is still what we work on today.

“Honourable Babajimi Benson talked about volunteering and having access to United Nations rewrote his story. Yes you are seeing the icing on the cake, you are not seeing what he took to get to where he is.

“I hope it would be a take home for us and we all work hard on it and make sure we are the pride of this land”.
