At the 12th graduation ceremony of the Lagos State Skill Acquisition Centres, 800 artisans and 400 tradesmen from 60 participating traders’ associations were empowered with modern tools and equipment to enhance their businesses.
Newsconnect reports that the graduates completed an intensive eight-week vocational training organized by the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment.
The training aimed to improve their technical and entrepreneurial skills, broadening their knowledge and boosting their productivity and competitiveness in the marketplace.
The Governor of Lagos State His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu at the event said;
“Artisans and tradesmen are the backbone of our state’s economy. The training focused on empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with modern techniques to enhance productivity and income.
“I hope the skills gained will lead to a significant turnaround in their jobs and economic situations.
“Our administration remains committed to social inclusion, gender equality, and youth empowerment, which are integral parts of the T.H.E.M.E.S+ development agenda”
