The Lagos Island local government authority has concluded plans to establish a mini fire service
station in the area council.

Speaking with Newsmen during a visit to the proposed project site at Aje Igboro Park in Olowogbowo community, today, Saturday 30 August, 2025, the executive chairman, Hon. Taiwo Oyekan said a section of the motor park will be acquired for the construction of the fire fighting facility.

Continuing, Hon. Oyekan said upon completion, the fire station will serve as a central base for firefighters to respond rapidly to fire outbreak, emergencies, protect lives and property.

On his part, the council engineer, Engr. Azeez Opeifa said the local government has bought a state-of-the-art fire fighting truck. He also stated that personnel have been engaged and trained for emergency response service.

“The proposed project site is a strategic location for quick access to Isale-Eko, Olowogbowo and Okoo faji communities in the event of a fire outbreak and emergency,” he concluded.

In the council boss delegation were the HOD, department of works, Engr. Azeez Opeifa, Lagos state chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW), Alh. Mustapha Adekunle and a host of others.
