Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, honorable leaders, followers, well-wishers and fellow citizens of Kosofe Local Government Area,

As an honorable member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I remain committed to the decisions of our leaders, particularly in sensitive situations or upcoming concerns.

After a period of silence, I’m updating the public although late, it’s better late than never. My team has been engaged in extensive meetings and consultations to reach a decision that benefits both our people and the party. We remain committed to the party’s structure and decisions, prioritizing the party’s decision. We’re working towards a positive outcome. Your patience and support are appreciated.

Regardless of individual aspirations, we’ll join forces to deliver the party’s flag bearer, upholding the party’s integrity and struggle built with dedication.

Decision to withdraw:
I, Hon. Olanrewaju Muritala Balogun, hereby announce my decision to withdraw from the Chairmanship race of our beloved Kosofe local government.

As a proud son of the great Kosofe, with a burning desire to serve and uplift my beloved local government. As enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution, I have the right to vote and be voted for. I was optimistic about this aspiration, for a better Kosofe. I believe in our community’s potential and I’ll always work tirelessly to unlock opportunities, foster unity and drive progress.

As I’ve learnt and digested from the ocean of knowledge and experience of our leaders, the party’s decision supercede my personal decision. As a true and loyal party man, I’ll never betray the struggle that has been built with noble sweat just because of my ambition.

After series of consultations and advice from leaders, mentors and fathers including Hon. Ganiyu Sanni Okanlawan (OKLA) representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Baba Shosanya, Mrs Animahun, etc, I hereby withdraw my Chairmanship aspiration for the party decision.

Being a loyal party man, I have been loyal to the structure and I believe that with any decision they take, there are more reasons to it than a bare eyes can see easily. I believe the party leaders have their good reason for this decision and I appreciate the support I’ve been given up to this moment. *I want to specially appreciate the support of my royal father, Oba Saliu Babatunde Saliu, Oloworo ii of Oworonshoki Kingdom, the party secretary Mrs Animahun, Baba Shosanya, Hon. Okanlawan for their unwavering guidance. Also to Hon. Awokoya Abiodun (Cheche) for his continuous support throughout my aspiration. I want to apologize to my honorable supporters and well-wishers for this decision and also urge you all to canvas, pray, support and vote for the party flag bearer. I wish our great party success in this coming LGA/LCDA and Councillorship election.

I’ll end my speech with these quotes:

“My allegiance to the system supersedes personal preference; integrity lies in upholding the framework that supports us all.”-BALO (23/04/2025)

“I prioritize loyalty to the structure over personal whims, for its stability is the bedrock of our collective success.” -BALO (24/04/2025)

Once again, I am Honorable Olanrewaju Muritala Balogun
