
Kosofe top management staffs
As part of its ongoing commitment to human capacity development, Kosofe Local Government recently organized a two-day training program for its top management staff. The focus of the training was on the importance of the Public Service Rules (PSR), Financial Regulations, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in local government administration.
Newsconnect reports that the interactive and insightful sessions were facilitated by renowned public speaker and former Council Manager, Dr. Prince Olujobi Adegbola. He commended the Executive Chairman, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, and the management team for their forward-thinking initiative in prioritizing staff development through regular training and retraining.
Dr. Olujobi extensively engaged the participants on the relevance of the Public Service Rules to effective service delivery in local government. He highlighted how these rules promote accountability, foster checks and balances, and enhance excellent performance. He further stressed the importance of IT competence in today’s digital world, urging staff members to become not only computer literate but also technologically savvy as the public sector evolves.
In a related session, Mr. Rufai M. K., a respected facilitator and Council Treasurer, led discussions on the fundamentals of Financial Regulations. He encouraged participants to practice prudence and transparency in the management of public funds by adhering strictly to established financial procedures. He also underscored the importance of synergy among key stakeholders within the local government for optimal service delivery.
The training session underscores the Council’s unwavering commitment to capacity building, professionalism, and the continuous enhancement of service delivery across all departments.
