Barr Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, has announced an ambitious solar street lighting initiative aimed at illuminating major trunk ‘C’ roads across the local government area.

The first set of beneficiary roads include:

  • Muri Folami Street, Ogudu GRA
  • Hakeem Ajala Street, Ogudu GRA
  • Ajoke Ogunlewe Close, Ogudu GRA
  • Ade Ajayi Street, Ogudu GRA
  • Salaudeen Akano Street, Ogudu GRA
  • Roju Avenue, Ojota

The project, titled “#letslightyouup”, will feature both single and double-header AIONA 6.5M high galvanised steel poles finished in dark grey. These sophisticated lighting systems will be secured with 10mm base plates and concrete foundations for durability and stability.

This strategic initiative demonstrates Barr Moyo Ogunlewe’s commitment to enhancing community development, improving residents’ quality of life, and bolstering security measures. The solar-powered nature of the lighting system also reflects the Chairman’s dedication to sustainable and environmentally conscious infrastructure development.

“This project, in alignment with the THEMES+ Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and grassroots development policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the welfare and safety of our residents,” said Barr Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe. “By harnessing the power of solar energy, we are not only improving visibility and security but also contributing to a greener, more sustainable future for Kosofe.”

The project is expected to significantly enhance visibility and safety along major thoroughfares within Kosofe Local Government Area.
