The Community Development Committee (CDC) in Kosofe Local Government has thanked the Executive Chairman of the aforementioned council Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe for ‘energizing’ the transformers he donated to eight communities across Kosofe recently.
Newsconnect reports that as a result of their inabilities to meet the stringent requirements of the electricity distribution company for connection services since they received the brand new 500kVA electricity transformers from the Chairman, again, Ogunlewe stepped in to relief the eight communities of the expenses burden.
In the course of investigation by this medium to unravel the cause of blackout since they received the transformer, the CDC Chairman Kosofe Mr Segun Babatunde opined that the beneficiaries could not afford to energize the transformer due to financial constraint, hence, this predicated the reason the donor, the Executive Chairman intervened to the plights of these communities.
In a telephone interview with this medium, Babatunde said;
“The CDA that benefited could ask for donations from the members of the community, but like I said it maybe difficult because it takes a lot of money to energize a transformer.
“My message to the Executive Chairman is to appreciate him for the donations of these transformers, and for having the community at heart, I think we should give kudos to him; and I also appeal to him to consider those communities that are in need.
“The CDA that benefited should make sure that these transformers are well protected from been vandalized because the transformers are purchased with tax payers money. I appeal to the members of the community to pay taxes as and when due”. He said.
