Ikorodu, Lagos State — On this significant occasion of Isese Day, Prince Abdul-Lateef Adedayo Ladega, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, extends warm greetings and a profound message to the people of Ikorodu, the sons and daughters of Oduduwa, and all lovers of culture.

In his message, the Chairman expresses deep pride and joy in the collective celebration of Isese Day, a day he describes as “deeply woven into the fabric of our identity.” He highlights that this day is not just a calendar event but a sacred invocation of the Yoruba spirit, a solemn remembrance of ancestral roots, and a vibrant celebration of existence.

“We gather under the banner of our heritage, a heritage so beautiful and profound that it has carried the wisdom of our ancestors across oceans and through generations,” he said.

Chairman Ladega emphasizes that celebrating Isese is a fundamental duty—an essential act of honoring the past to build a future grounded in progress, respect, community, and spiritual balance.

“To know where you are going, you must never forget where you came from. Our traditions are the bedrock upon which we build our future,” he noted.

He encourages all residents, young and old, to participate fully in the day’s celebrations with open hearts and reflective minds—honoring the past, celebrating the present, and inspiring the future.

“Let the world see the dignity, the color, the music, and the unwavering spirit of Ikorodu and the Yoruba people.”

The Chairman concludes by invoking the blessings of the ancestors upon all families and communities, wishing progress and peace for the year ahead:

“May the blessings of the ancestors be with you and your families today and always. Ọdún yìí yóò jẹ́ ti ìtẹ̀síwájú àti àlàáfíà. Àsé.”
