In a continued effort to engage critical stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections, the APC Chairmanship candidate for Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon Ameen Olawale Ibrahim, has met with the Community Development Committee (CDC) in a familiarisation meeting held earlier this week.

The meeting, which took place in the heart of Ikorodu North LCDA, was hosted by the CDC Chairman, Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, who warmly welcomed Hon Ameen Ibrahim and his campaign team. The candidate, alongside his running mate, Mr Mathew Aliu Adesanya, was officially introduced to the gathering by Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani (TJ), the APC Divisional and Ikorodu North LCDA Chairman.

Otunba TJ also used the occasion to present all APC councillorship candidates to the community leaders, urging the CDC to mobilise support and votes for all the party’s flagbearers across wards. He reassured them that the incoming administration would align with both Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Agenda and Hon Ameen Ibrahim’s visionary New Deal Agenda: a policy blueprint crafted to usher in sustainable grassroots development.

In his address, Hon Ameen Olawale Ibrahim expressed deep appreciation to the CDC leadership and reaffirmed his commitment to work closely with the community structure if elected. He acknowledged the vital role of the CDC in community coordination and participatory development.

“I commend the leadership of the CDC under Prince Ogunbanwo. I am particularly encouraged by the collaborative spirit I’ve witnessed here today. If elected, my administration will operate in full synergy with the CDC across all wards. We will not reinvent the wheel; instead, we will build on existing templates and expand on them with our New Deal Agenda to deliver results that matter to the people,” he stated.

The Vice Chairmanship candidate, Mr Mathew Aliu Adesanya, also addressed the gathering, pledging total loyalty and support to the chairmanship candidate.

“This is a partnership built on mutual trust and shared purpose. I vow to give my full support to the chairman in office, and together we will work in alignment with the CDC and other community stakeholders to deliver impactful governance,” he said.

The CDC Chairman, Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, in his response, commended the APC-led administration in Ikorodu North LCDA for the consistent support he has enjoyed throughout his tenure. He expressed delight at the visit and gave strong assurances that the CDC, along with the various CDAs under its umbrella, would vote en masse for all APC candidates in the upcoming elections.

Notable CDC leaders in attendance included Hon Babayemisi Kehinde Fokunmoju, 1st Vice Chairman and Chairman of all Joint CDAs in Erikorodo Ward; the CDC Secretary; and three executive members representing CDAs across Ikorodu North LCDA.

The Director General of the APAMAT Campaign Team, Hon Wale Olowolagba, formally introduced the campaign entourage. Also present at the event were APC Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Odidi, and Hon Sulaimon Adewusi, the Director of Media and Publicity.

Four councillors representing the wards of Erikorodo, Isiu, Agbala, and Odogunyan were part of the campaign delegation, signalling a united front within the APC family as the elections draw closer.
