The Odofin of Ikorodu kingdom who is the Chairman of 2025 Ikorodu Division Youth Assembly Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya (SAN), has charged indigenes and youths domicile in Ikorodu division to emulate and leverage the giant strides of non-partisan indigenes of Ikorodu in different sectors to make more impacts.
Newsconnect reports that the theme of year 2025 IDYA was dubbed “Keying Ikorodu Division into the Lagos State Development Plan 2052”.
Ogunsanya in his remark at the youth assembly event said;
“I don’t see politics as a way of keying Ikorodu into any form of progress, in short it should be the last on the mind of any youth that wants the growth of Ikorodu.
“If you go to Alausa, and the Permanent Secretary there is Ikorodu, or the Director is Ikorodu, that is not keying Ikorodu in. That is governance.

“There is more that can make Ikorodu very very impactful. Look at the way the world is going now, the more successful people in the world now are not necessarily the people with PHD, they are those who make use of intellectual property, brains.
“I want Ikorodu indigenes to make use of their brains positively. We see people like Bill-Gate and the likes of them, they are all university dropouts, but look at them what they have succeeded in doing.
“They have moved the world forward. The world chess champion is an indigene of Ikorodu. Oshoala, the lady footballer is an indigene of Ikorodu, ‘Jennifer’ Funke Akindele is an indigene of Ikorodu. She is also making her mark, she is an indigene of Ikorodu.
“So if you have people like that you can be proud of associating with, we can do so much in Ikorodu. We can do so much in Ikorodu to use our intellectual property. I also believe that keying into the dreams of Lagos State, shouldn’t be wealth oriented.
“It should not be about money money money. Money is not and can’t be a measure of success, it can never be measure of achievement. It is the number of people you impact on their lives.
