In a bid to curb cultism and other societal vices, the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), an initiative of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, will hold a special Ramadan lecture on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The event, which aims to engage the public in meaningful discourse on moral and spiritual values, is scheduled to take place at the Ejigbo LCDA Secretariat, opposite NNPC, Ejigbo Community, Lagos, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Themed “Name, Fame, and Shame: The Consequences of One’s Actions in the Hereafter,” the lecture seeks to provide deep insights into the impact of individual choices on both earthly life and the afterlife.

Speaking on the initiative, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, emphasized that the lecture is designed to educate attendees on the moral and spiritual implications of their actions while reinforcing the fight against cultism and other vices, especially among youths.

The event will feature an interactive session where participants can engage with speakers, ask questions, and gain clarifications on pressing societal issues. Additionally, real-life experiences will be shared to drive home the message of making informed and ethical decisions.

ACP Okuwobi assured that the lecture promises to be enlightening and inspiring, equipping attendees with valuable lessons to help them make better life choices. She encouraged members of the public to attend and participate actively.

As part of the programme, there will be Iftar (breaking of fast) and the distribution of Qoidat (guidance on Islamic principles) to attendees.

POCACOV, a community-driven initiative under the leadership of IGP Egbetokun, is committed to preventive policing strategies aimed at tackling cultism, violence, and other social vices, particularly among young people.
