
In a swift display of responsive leadership, the Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency 01, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, has intervened in the demolition of buildings at Ojileru, Oworonshoki.
Early this morning, Hon. Okanlawon contacted the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to express concern over the exercise and its impact on residents. After their discussion, the Governor immediately directed the relevant authorities to suspend the demolition. This action underscores the Governor’s sensitivity to public concerns while highlighting Hon. Okanlawon’s dedication to protecting the interests of his constituents.
Hon. Okanlawon visited the demolition site at Ojileru, Oworonshoki, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Urban Development, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki. On arrival, the Permanent Secretary ordered an immediate suspension of the exercise, effectively bringing the demolition to a stop.
Speaking at the site, Hon. Okanlawon assured affected residents that compensation would be paid to the owners of buildings already demolished.
