
A Lagos state lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 01 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, has facilitated the clearing of Arowojobe Estate Canal in Mende area of Kosofe.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Lagos State Government to improve drainage and prevent flooding. The objective is to provide unobstructed water flow and establish a more secure atmosphere for residents.
The Lagos State Government’s Drainage Services Department were involved in the removal of debris and overgrown weeds from the canal that were obstructing the flow of water, which has the potential to cause flooding during prolonged downpours, underscoring the urgency of taking immediate action allow easy passage of rainstorm water during the rainy season.
The ongoing clearing of the Arowojobe Canal is a testament to Hon. Okanlawon’s commitment in ensuring that Mende and other areas of Kosofe are flood-free, environmentally friendly and ecologically sustainable.
Recall that Hon. Okanlawon facilitated the construction of Dr. Okey Onuzo/Dele Onabule/Shitta Bay drainage and Mende-Arowojobe estate Link Bridge which have long been utilized by the residents of Mende Community.
