Globacom, Nigeria’s leading technology company, has encouraged tertiary schools in Oyo State to adopt its digital solutions in order to improve learning, productivity, security, and operational efficiency.
At a meeting with representatives of various private tertiary institutions in the state capital, Ibadan, on Thursday, Globacom’s Head of Enterprise Business, Mr. Zakari Usman this was part of the company’s efforts to support the growth of the education sector in Nigeria.
The meeting was chaired by the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Waheed Adelabu, who had organized a similar gathering in August with leaders from the state’s government-owned higher education institutions.
Globacom disclosed at the meeting its willingness to collaborate with the schools in areas such as connectivity services, e-governance, smart learning, security surveillance, data vending, sponsored data, Glo Smart Health, and closed user group serialized numbers.
According to Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, Enterprise Business Head, Globacom West Region, “these solutions will enhance administrative effectiveness, service delivery, and ease of internet connectivity, among other areas of possible collaboration”.
Mr. Odejobi said the company’s educational solutions are essential to making sure that the Internet of Things is widely adopted and implemented in schools. These solutions include interactive content, personalized learning paths, user-friendly interfaces, thorough reporting, and analytics.
The Commissioner, in his welcome note, complimented Globacom for its support for the education sector and its goals for the state’s schools. He was positive that Globacom’s digital services will strengthen the ministry’s efforts to establish best practices in education throughout the state.
