The National Chairman , All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has reacted with extreme dismay and heartfelt condolences to the devastating incident that claimed lives and left many affected in Taura Local Government Area, Jigawa State.

In a heartfelt press statement, he offered sincerest sympathies to the state’s government and residents following the devastating fuel tanker explosion that resulted in  loss of over 140 lives .

“I’m profoundly saddened by the news on the tanker explosion in Jigsaw Stare which claimed over 140 lives and left many others injured”.

Victims who died from the petrol explosion on Wednesday increased to 147.

 Chairman,Taura Local Government Area (LGA), Shu’aibu Hambali, on Wednesday , announced the updated casualty count from the tragic tanker explosion during a live broadcast on Arewa Radio, where 147 victims who died while scooping fuel from the wreckage were later laid to rest in mass burials.

He also  shared his grief and   extended sympathies to those affected, their families, and the entire Jigawa State community.

“This heart-breaking  tragedy serves as a poignant reminder of life’s delicate nature and the vital need for safety awareness. May Allah grant the departed eternal peace and solace their loved ones in this time of sorrow. To the people of Jigawa State, know that you’re not alone; we empathize with your anguish and pledge support through the rebuilding process.”

APC, National Chairman, Ganduje urged the nation to acknowledge its collective responsibility in promoting a culture of safety and well-being, in response to this tragic incident.

He reaffirmed the party’s solidarity with Jigawa State’s government and its  people, pledging unwavering support during these difficult times.

We recognize the severity of this incident and its profound impact on the community. Our party is dedicated to backing relief efforts, ensuring those affected get vital support. We also urge Nigerians to support  us in prayer for the victims and their loved ones”.

Ganduje acknowledged  the emergency responders and medical personnel for their unwavering dedication, highlighting the invaluable impact of their selfless work in supporting those injured.
