In celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has distributed food packs to 12,000 households across the 16 LGs and LCDAs in the district. The initiative, carried out on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, also saw the distribution of 75 cows and 200 rams to royal fathers, party leaders, clerics, and community stakeholders.
The food packs—containing rice and garri, per household—were branded with the names of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and Senator Abiru, signaling alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda and national food security efforts.

This large-scale outreach, part of Senator Abiru’s broader #DoingGood initiative, targeted vulnerable groups including people with disabilities, the elderly, women, and unemployed youths, many of whom were shortlisted through an online nomination process.
Speaking during the exercise at his Ikorodu constituency office, Senator Abiru reaffirmed his commitment to supporting constituents during festive seasons, especially amid current economic challenges. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts at all levels of government to alleviate hardship.

“This programme reflects our continued commitment to the welfare of the people of Lagos East… especially during seasons of spiritual reflection and celebration like Eid-el-Kabir,” he stated.
The event drew commendations from community leaders including Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and APC apex leader in Ikorodu Division.
Senator Abiru’s track record includes digital skill empowerment, business grants, education support, and other humanitarian initiatives aimed at sustainable community development.
