Dear Kosofe Residents,
As we commemorate Democracy Day, I salute the courage and sacrifices of our heroes who fought tirelessly for Nigeria’s democratic freedom. We honour the memory of Late Chief MKO Abiola, whose mandate epitomised the June 12 struggle, and Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi, the fearless human rights activist.
We equally celebrate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Professor Wole Soyinka, whose commitment to democratic ideals during the struggle remains inspirational. Their collective sacrifices have bequeathed us the democracy we cherish today.
Let us continue strengthening our democratic institutions whilst upholding the values of unity, justice, and good governance that define our nation.
