The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials COWLSO the (AMBODE ERA SUB-GROUP) in furtherance of its interventions to the 3 divisions of Lagos State, extends medical outreach to Lagos Mainland as part of activities designed to celebrate the 25th National Women’s Conference.

‎Newsconnect gathered that COWLSO at the medical outreach flagoff in Lagos Mainland said they want everyone to benefit that is why they brought the intervention to their domain.

The THEME of the conference was dubbed “HEALTH FOR ALL: BRIDGING GAPS, BUILDING A HEALTHY FUTURE”.

‎According to the First Lady, the programme will provide free consultations, medical tests, treatments, health education, and where necessary, referrals. It is designed to touch lives directly, restore hope, and empower residents with the knowledge and services needed for healthier living.

‎The First lady of Lagos State Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu who was ably represented at the event by the coordinator of COWLSO (AMBODE ERA SUB-GROUP) Mrs Aderonke Solomon said;

‎”We are happy to be in three divisions. We have done that of Lagos West in Mushin and Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye sometimes in August.

‎”So Yesterday, we did the one for Lagos/Central. Yaba local government and today, we are having another one at Lagos Mainland Local Government.

‎”We really want them to benefit so we bring the health outreach to their domain. We had one at Makoko area and we are having another one at Lagos Mainland in Oyingbo. 

‎”We choose this place as a central place to carry out the health outreach. 

‎”We have five leadership era. We have late Mrs Mobolaji Johnson’s Era, we have Chief Mrs Oluremi Tinubu’s Era, We have H. E Abimbola Fashola’s era, we have H.E Mrs Bolanle Ambode’s era, and lastly we have Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwoolu’s era.

‎”So this intervention is the fourth phase of the Ambode’s era in Lagos Mainland.

“We had 500 people at Yaba and also 500 people here. In Mushin and Odi-olowo we had 1000 for the 2 days. So lastly we will be moving to Epe Local government, by next week for the Lagos East while we come back to finish it at Lekki and Ibeju Lekki local government to cover Lagos east senatorial district. 

‎”We brought the Blood Pressure to check the BP, if it is high low or normal. We brought the equipment to check diabetes, cervical screening and breast screening.  We are having the dental, chest xray to check if there is TB or anything pertaining to chest ailment. 

‎”There is also the eye screening session. After the screening, they will see doctor. So if they have anything aside of what we can cover here today, they would be referred to general hospital to follow up with their checkup.

‎”We are doing many things, not only health outreaches. We are doing rehabilitation, empowerment for widow, we are doing empowerment for the less privilege ones, our conference is coming and you would hear more of what we are doing at the conference.”

‎The Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government Honourable Emilagba Kolawole Jubril said The Health outreach is going to be a continuous program, that they would copy the Firstlady and leverage on the outcome of COWLSO’s intervention going forward.

Lagos Mainland LG CDC Chairman Mr Salako Muiz Babatunde told Newsconnect correspondent at the event that the initiative is a very good one, that they welcome it and hope it is going to be a continuous exercise.

‎”Health is wealth. Before now I used glasses, but I no longer. Before I can’t read without my glasses but not the same anymore.

‎”I want the youths of Lagos Mainland to key into all the government programs. We look forward to more infrastructural development in the community , structural infrastructure and stomach infrastructure.

‎”Kudos to COWLSO, and Mr Chairman. since he emerged, he has carried the community along. God will be with him, enrich him and give him long life and prosperity “.

‎Beneficiaries expressed excitements, thanked COWLSO and the chairman fir the laudable initiative. They appeal that the intervention should be continuous and not a one-off.
