The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, has officially inaugurated the Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA Monthly Conditional Cash Transfer Program at the Council Secretariat in Agbowa.
This was disclosed in a statement released through, Areh AbdulHamid, the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
According to AbdulHamid, the program aims to provide support to over 3,000 households, offering financial support of #10,000, free medical checkups and drugs to beneficiaries.
The event was attended by dignitaries including the Vice Chairman, Alh. Wasiu Dehinsilu; SLG, Hon Miniru Temitope; Traditional rulers such as HRM Oba Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, HRM. Oba Saheed Owolabi Momson, the Abowa of Agbowa-Ikosi; HRM Oba Elias Adedapo Omoloro, the Olota of Otta-Ikosi and HRM. Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari, the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi; former ES, Hon. Yusuf Sulaimon;Mrs. Modinat Yusuf, APC Vice-chairman Ikosi-Ejinrin, Supervisor for WAPA, Hon. Kareemat Hassan; Council Manager, Mr. Sunday Awobajo; CT, Mr Lawal Adeshina among others. Renowned actress Sola Kosoko was also present at the program.
In his address, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo acknowledged the challenges posed by the current economic situation but expressed optimism about the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu economic recovery efforts.
He emphasized his administration’s commitment to the welfare of residents, stating that the program was born out of a desire to alleviate the suffering of the common man.
Under the program, more than 200 individuals will be selected monthly from different communities to benefit from the cash transfer initiative. This initiative is part of a broader plan to empower residents and improve their quality of life.
HRM Oba Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu who spoke on behalf of the Traditional rulers present commended for his proactive approach to governance as the traditional rulers are happy with him, urging him to continue prioritizing the welfare of residents and also look into also creating Empowerment opportunities for them.
Council Manager, Mr. Sunday Awobajo, praised the chairman for his people-centric approach and assured the community of the council’s commitment to delivering on its promises and making life easier for residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin.
