To address the alarming rise of femicide in Nigeria, Societal Concerns Organization will host a high-profile symposium on Tuesday, 17th December 2024 at the LCCI Conference Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. Themed “Breaking the Silence on Femicide,” the event promises to be a powerful call to action, uniting stakeholders to tackle this pressing issue.

The event will feature special guest appearances by Ashny, alongside distinguished personalities who are passionate advocates for gender justice.  

The Special Guest of Honor is Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State and Matron of Societal Concerns, renowned for her dedication to the welfare and safety of women. Other notable speakers and panelists include:  

– Kafilat Araoye

– Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi

– Alausa Olayinka

– Pharm Oluwatoyin Osanyintolu-Oke

– Kadijahat Kareem

– Moremi Ojudu

– Engr Abisoye Coker-Odusote

The event will also convene members of the judiciary, policymakers, community leaders, and activists who are committed to eradicating gender-based violence.  

Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the Royal Father of the Day is HRM Michael Kolawole Adekoya, Ilufemiloye I, Alaye Aba of Aba Kingdom, Aiyepe Ijebu, who will lend his royal support to this noble cause.
