The Agboyi-Ketu community celebrated a significant leap in healthcare access with the commissioning of a new 40-bed Primary Health Centre, a pivotal accomplishment under the leadership of Mayor Dele Oshinowo. This landmark event took place yesterday, October 21st and was graced by Her Excellency, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The commissioning ceremony reflects the concerted efforts of the Agboyi-Ketu administration, with unwavering support from Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing the Lagos East Senatorial District. Together, they have worked tirelessly to bring crucial healthcare services to the doorstep of residents, ensuring that quality medical care is accessible to all.Mayor Oshinowo, who was represented by his vice, Hon. Folake Kayode, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders involved, especially to the federal government for its support. He highlighted that the establishment of this modern health facility underscores the commitment of his administration to promoting health and well-being in the community.
He reiterated that the Primary Health Centre is designed to cater to the medical needs of the Agboyi-Ketu people.Her Excellency, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire commended the Executive Chairman’s efforts for his excellent performances, innovations and rapid transformation of the Local Council Development Area. She emphasized that the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Administration is focused and impactful, and this is encouraging enough to attract supports for further development.
She further said that the development of the Primary Health Centre aligns with the SDGs, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all. “This facility will not only serve as a medical hub but also as a beacon of hope for improved healthcare in Lagos State,” she stated.Senator Mukhail Abiru reiterated his commitment to supporting health initiatives in the Lagos East constituency and expressed enthusiasm about witnessed collaboration among various tiers of government. “It is imperative that we invest in the health of our citizens to foster development.
This facility will significantly alleviate the burden on existing health services,” he noted.Omooba Olumuyiwa Sosanya, a member of the Governors Advisory Council in the Lagos East Senatorial District, who was also in attendance, appreciated the stakeholders for the visionary administration in Agboyi-Ketu. He urged for cooperation and continuity of excellence.Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, a representative of Kosofe Constituency 1, said the development is a commendable one which signifies a strong commitment to enhancing healthcare services in the community.
She however urged for proper and constant maintenance of the PHC so as to serve the community.Also, Hon. Femi Saheed, LAHA pointed out that it was a collaborative effort toward achieving sustainable development goals in the region.
