June 12, indeed a day to celebrate the essence, the depth, the strength and truth of Democracy.
Standing together as a people, a voice, a nation, we have experienced and triumphed through in progression, upturns, made giant strides, and successive fulfilments.
Being able to sustain the rudiments of democracy has aided transformative ideas, renewed hope and ensured progression.
Grateful to the led-administration of our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), for policies and procedures that assures positivism, and unmatched synergy towards Unity, development of sound democratic values and ultimately development in Nigeria.
His Leadership has reinstated belief in attaining a Nigeria that resonates possibilities, and a network that thrives.
It is no gain-saying, it’s a proven fact across sectors in the country.
I wish to commend Mr Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu for his ability to have created sustainable mechanisms towards enhancing the capacities across sectors in Lagos State, keeping up the mega city the world sees.
The Democracy day should transcend beyond the celebration and commemoration to incisive reflection on our past, on this mode, I go over the achievements of my led-administration on security and management, infrastructural development- of which earned me the encomium of ‘Mr Infrastructure’, economic growth through revenue enhancing innovations and ideas, Educational interventions, improved Health care services and programs, Community engagements, Women & Aged empowerment and alleviation programs, Agricultural empowerment and interventions, business empowerment initiatives, skill acquisition and development initiatives, Digital and media trainings, staff welfare packages and improved working environment, youth inclusion and engagements, social services and implementation of initiatives for the overall well-being of the people of Ikorodu.
As I wind up, preparing to hand over the baton as the democratic practice, I dare say that my led administration has been an upholder of democratic principles, of which sharing the dividend of democracy has been a core mandate from day one. Upon which we have kept growing in strength and accountability, protecting our democracy, for the successive leadership to continue.
I urge our upcoming leadership to keep as priority the well-being of the people. Learn from the obstacles we overcame, and continue on the progress we’ve made thus far, to help strengthen the plans to keep Ikorodu moving while ensuring prosperity for all.
I also urge the good people of Ikorodu to give all the required and quality support to the coming administration as they have given me.
This will in turn keep the core values of Democracy strengthened and propel it for a geometric progression towards the ‘Ikorodu we all desire’.
I, wish everyone a happy democracy day celebration. Every Nigerian has a vital role to observe civic duties and active participation towards purposeful engagement and sustainable development.
