Honourable Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon.
Eid-el-Kabir, or the Festival of Sacrifice, is an important religious celebration observed by Muslims around the world. It honors the steadfast faith and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim(AS), who was prepared to sacrifice his son in submission to God’s will—a powerful symbol of devotion, sacrifice, and trust in the divine. In Nigeria, the occasion is celebrated with prayers, charitable acts, communal meals, and expressions of generosity.
Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, popularly known as OKLA, Chairman House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs & Rural Development in the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency 01, has conveyed heartfelt warm Sallah greetings to Muslims in his constituency and across the country.
Hon. Okanlawon noted that Eid El Kabir is a period of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, and thankfulness. This holy celebration calls to mind the enduring virtues of faith, obedience, compassion, and generosity as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who was tested and proven steadfast in his devotion to the Almighty. These timeless values strongly align with the spirit and unity of our diverse and dynamic nation, according to the lawmaker.
In his goodwill message, Hon. Okanlawon urged Nigerians to truly embrace the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir by practicing selflessness, sacrifice, and patriotism, while continually praying for lasting peace, progress, and the development of the nation.
He further emphasized that the celebration offers a moment for reflection on the core Islamic virtues of piety, honesty, generosity, and compassion. Hon. Okanlawon urged both Muslims and non-Muslims to adopt these principles in their daily lives and community engagements.
Hon. Okanlawon also underscored the need for peace, unity, and mutual respect among all Nigerians, particularly in light of the country’s diversity. He called on citizens to use the festive season as an opportunity to foster harmony and national integration, transcending religious and ethnic boundaries.
The lawmaker rounded off his message by wishing all Muslim faithful a joyous, peaceful, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir. His regular engagement during religious festivities reflects his enduring commitment to the spiritual, cultural, and social upliftment of his constituents.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Kosofe 01, I pray that Allah (SWT) accepts your acts of worship and rewards you with happiness and prosperity and may this Eid bring abundant blessings and good health to you and your loved ones..
Hon. Sanni Okanlawon, through his messages, continually advocates for religious harmony and emphasizes shared values such as love, faith, and generosity that foster strong community bonds.
May the spirit of generosity and kindness continue to thrive within our communities and Nation”.
