Since it is generally believed that the last days of holy month of Ramadan are special days by Allah considering the fact that it is a month in which prayers are always answered and a month when the holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed (SAW), Chairmanship aspirant in Kosofe Local Government Honourable Olayinka Rabiu fondly called Whytee leveraged on this reality, organised Ramadan Lecture and Prayer for the people of Kosofe at large.

Newsconnect reports that this Year’s Ramadan lecture and prayer is the maiden edition of the program, however, the convener told this medium that he intends to make it an annual activity going forward.

The lecture title was dubbed ‘What is the reward for good deeds’.

In an interview with Newsconnect correspondence and the convener to unearth the significance of the Ramadan lecture and choice of title of lecture, Honourable Olayinka said;

“I have seized this opportunity to pray for our beloved country (Nigeria) and our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), Lagos State and Mr. Governor, Our distinguish Lagos East Senator Tokunbo Abiru whose birthday coincided with the Ramadan lecture as well as our indefatigable pathfinder and mama Kosofe, our representative at the House of Representatives , Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, the two (2) members of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Hon. Sanni Okanlawon and Hon. Femi Saheed and lastly Hon. Dayo Alebiosu, the commissioner for water front and infrastructures.

“It is believed that the last 10 days of Ramadan are special days because the Quran was delivered to the holy prophet SAW during this period. It is generally believed that whatever prayer points before Allah within these 10days will be answered by Allah.

“As you can see the topic of the Ramadan lecture teaches that we should do good and righteous before Allah and we should do what we want others do onto us. It also emphasizes that all our actions whether good or bad, there shall be consequences for every action”. He said.

As the local council election season draws nearer, the convener who is also a chairmanship aspirant in Kosofe gave his word of admonition to people of Kosofe and political leaders in Kosofe.

“Considering the current hardship faced by many Nigerians at the moment as the government of the day is doing its best to reposition the country from yester years failure, i advise the good people of Kosofe to stay steadfast and not allow any form of intimidation from any corner in choosing who they deem suitable to lead them.

“I want our people to eschew any form of violence and avoid being used by any politician to perpetrate any nefarious acts.

“For our great leaders, I can only wish they would allow the wishes and the voices of the good people of Kosofe be heard. I hope the Leadership would allow true democracy to have its course and conduct a free, fair and transparent primary elections”. Olayinka concluded.

The event was attended by the Kosofe LGA APC party Chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Bello and other APC stalwarts and members across the Kosofe local government area.
Also, as part of the event, food palliatives were shared to 500 Kosofe residents to commemorate the holy month Ramadan.
