The 14th President of the prestigious Igbogbo Platinum Lions club Lion Princess Basirat Adetutu Banjoko has reeled out her development plans and agenda at a ceremonial investiture in Ikorodu, organised by the club to usher her in.

Newsconnect reports that Lion Adetutu said it is a clarion call for her to serve humanity.

In her own words, she said;

“While the task ahead is substantial, I am confident that with the unwavering support of our Club officers and members, we will achieve remarkable success.

“As your president for 2024-2025 LSY, I reaffirm my commitment to creating meaningful change in our community”.

According to her, below are the eight focus agenda/projects she will embark on as she hits the ground running;

  1. Construction of standard school toilets at Igbe Community Primary School
  2. Empowerment of 2,000 youth and women through skill acquisition, with start-up kits for 200+ beneficiaries
  3. Bi-monthly feeding program reaching 100 homes
  4. Environmental services in partnership with government agencies
  5. Comprehensive eye care services including screenings, prescription glasses, and cataract surgeries
  6. Pediatric Cancer and Diabetes Awareness initiatives
  7. Maternal and child healthcare support
  8. Regular outreach to motherless and elderly.

She mentioned that the above projects are crucial to transforming lives and communities, hence, she seeks partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations towards achieving the goals with a budget ceiling of 25 million naira.

The District Governor, Lion Dr. Folasade Shotomide, harped on the theme “Excellence in Service.”

Dr. Shotomide urged members to prioritize the well-being of others, stating, “Our service is not just about what we do, but about how we make others feel.”

She congratulated the President and club officers on their investiture and expressed enthusiasm for collaborative efforts to make a meaningful impact.

She stressed the importance of prudence, diligence, and striving for excellence in all aspects of service. She echoed International President Fabricio Oliveira’s charge to “Make Our Mark,” emphasizing the need for innovative and supportive teamwork.

“We will make our mark with excellence in service and create a brighter future for all,” Dr. Shotomide affirmed.

Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom In his remark charged the 14th President to leverage upon the achievements of the past president, while striving for even greater excellence.

Adeboruwa emphasized the importance of maintaining the high standards set by the club’s predecessors, urging the new leadership to surpass previous accomplishments. He pledged his support to the club, ensuring a strong partnership for this service year.
