The interest of the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe towards promoting Culture and Tourism was recognized at the 25th GOGE Africa Festival as the council received award of the best Conducive Local Government for Business.
Newsconnect reports that GOGE Africa is a Festival organised to celebrate the beautiful culture of Africa, heritage of the people of Africa, the diversity , camaraderie, the colours and gathering of friends and people from different parts of the world.
Just as he mobilised his arsenals in the Executive and legislative arm of the council in Kosofe to the two day entertaining Festival at Onikan, Ogunlewe mobilised different talents, Masquerades from various socio-cultural ethnic group to entertain participants.
In an interview with the Executive Chairman of Kosofe LG and Newsconnect correspondence at the Festival with regards to his feelings about the award and future of tourism in Kosofe, he said;
“Having seen what GOGE Africa has been doing towards promoting our cultural heritage, our colours, our dance, our language, I feel it is important we give them the full support. We are giving this support not just because their office is domicile in Kosofe, but to also support tourism which is part of the THEMES Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
“I am happy we are awarded the most condusive business environment, we will sustain the tempo, introduce more friendly policies that will promote trade and businesses
“Tourism now seen as the shortest route to building and boosting the economy, the present Administration is leveraging on the popularity of Goge Africa Cultural Festival for its future investment and interest in Tourism”. He said.
Going forward, the Co-Founder of GOGE Africa Festival Isaac Moses in an interview with Newsconnect said;
“We are going to take African Culture to another level. As long as the world understands Africa, it is going to be a better world.
“We want them to see the rich culture of Africa, they need to see the colonary heritage of Africa. They need to see the people, understand them, because your culture makes you who you are”. He said.
Lagos state Government was awarded Tourism Development Leadership Award.
