A former Senator representing Benue North East Senatorial District at the National Assembly His Excellency Gabriel Suswam has opined that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) do not have leadership that have the capacity to take the party from where it is to where it belongs, which is alternative opposition party for Nigerians.
Newsconnect reports that Suswam in an interview on ‘The Morning Show’ on Arise News today said the performance of Ambassador Damagum, the acting National Chairman of PDP has been abysmal.
He further said that if the leadership of PDP was performing very well, the agitation that the position should return to the North Central would not have been as loud as it is now.
In his words he said,
“If the leadership of PDP was performing very well, the agitation that the position should return to the North Central would not have been as loud as it is now.
“Because the performance has been very abysmal to say the least, a lot of people are tired, and that has further emboldened the people not just within the north central to say that let us find somebody who can give leadership to the north central where this leadership position rightly belong by the constitution of the party.
” It is not just that people from the North Central wanting to be National Chairman, it is because of the abysmal performance of leadership of the party. That is what is most evident in all of these.
“We don’t have leadership that have shown they have the capacity to put PDP where it should belong, an alternative opposition for Nigeria”. He said
