Tragedy struck on Saturday along Ogun State’s Ota-Idiroko Expressway, claiming the lives of a yet – to -be identified motorcyclist and passenger in a fatal accident within Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Ogun State.
Spokesperson for Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed that the accident occurred at 9 am, involving a white Iveco truck with registration number AAA 163 YJ and a motorcycle with registration DGB 498 UW.
According to Akinbiyi, eyewitness report confirmed the motorcyclist’s dangerous maneuver, speeding past the Iveco truck, resulting in a devastating collision.
The accident resulted into the unfortunate demise of the motorcyclist and passenger, while the third person suffered non- fatal injuries.

Akinbiyi disclosed that eyewitnesses intervened to rescue the injured victim, and the remains of the deceased were then taken to the Ifo General Hospital mortuary.
“Prior to our arrival, passersby took the injured victim to receive medical attention. Afterwards, TRACE operatives and police officers took charge of the deceased, transporting them to the Ifo General Hospital morgue.”
In Conclusion , Akinbiyi emphasized the importance of safe driving, urging motorists to avoid excessive speed, while TRACE and the police expressed their heartfelt condolences to the deceased family.
