The Oyo State Police Command has apprehended four suspects , including a woman found in possession of #12 million cash , Firearms and marijuana in Iwere-ile, the headquarters  of Iwajowa Local Government Area on Wednesday .

According to Punch Newspaper, the suspects were apprehended during a collaborative effort between the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and Law Enforcement Officials.

It was also gathered  that the  suspects questionable behavior prompted residents to notify  the security operatives.

Following a prolonged investigation, local agents’ intelligence led authorities to arrest suspects who posed as charcoal  vendors,   under surveillance.

“They are pretending as charcoal dealers but kidnapping and related crimes in the community could be traced to them if carefully investigated.

The suspected criminals were caught in possession of N12 million, guns, and marijuana during a joint operation between members of the VGN and the police,” the source added.

However, The suspects have  been transferred to the Iwajowa Divisional Police Headquarters in Iwere-Ile for further investigation and processing.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso  disclosed that a thorough investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and relevant updates on the case will be made available.
