The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia has sworn in newly elected local government chairmen, urging  them to promote  good governance and ensure fairness  without any form of  bias or prejudice.

The 23  All Progressive Congress (APC) Local Government chairmen emerged victorious in  the recent  Local Government election held on Saturday.

Governor Alia , while swearing in the chairmen said , “As you assume office, I  entrust you with a vital responsibility  requiring diligent  service,tireless efforts, visionary leadership, and impartial governance.”

He emphasized  that the role requires strong moral principles, forward thinking, and unwavering commitment to transparency, fairness, and honesty.

Stressing Further, He advised the new chairmen to leverage the progress  created by the previous committees to drive further growth and development.

He advised the chairmen to listen to their constituents and collaborate with stakeholders to foster prosperity for all through participatory governance.

“I implore you to prioritize the greater good over personal interests, delivering democratic benefits directly to the people.Leadership is not about personal enrichment but selfless services and sacrifices”he added .

Governor Alia also said, “I want to emphasize that collaboration is key to effective governance. With the new local government autonomy, I strongly encourage you to work closely with us at the state level to develop and implement policies and programs that directly benefit our rural communities.”

In Conclusion ,he urged the newly elected chairmen to swiftly begin their duties, emphasizing that the time for politics is over. He also encouraged them to foster a collaborative environment by embracing constructive ideas and criticism from opposition parties, promoting democracy and good governance .
