Four medicine patent facilities  in the Rogo Local Government Area, Kogi State  have been shut down by The Kano State Private Health Institution Management Agency 

This was as a result of  non- compliance with agency regulation and engagement in illegal activities

The Director General , Private Health Institution Management Agency( PHIMA) Prof. Salisu Tofa, who led a group  of Regulatory officials on Friday, revealed that  the exercise carried out was in view to   Enhance an improved quality health care  services in the state 

According to Prof. Tofa represented by  Director  Abdussalam Zarewa,indicated  that the four facilities were shut down for operating without necessary registration and approval from the Agency, a clear violation of Agency regulations.

Investigation revealed that these facilities despite  operating  without a laboratory,  still provides critical health services such as blood transfusions, blood tests, and IV drips.

“The facilities are operating illegally which is against the laws of the agency hence our decision to close them to serve as a deterrent to others,” Prof Tofa added.

However  the Directors  Maigayya Clinic and Maternity, Yanoko Fulatan Ward have been summoned to appear before the agency or  bear  the risk of losing  their  facilities.

In compliance with the agency’s orders, the facility owners acknowledged their violations and agreed to visit the Agency’s office to complete necessary formalities.
