Below is the message of the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Barrister Moyosore to Muslim Ummah in Kosofe, Lagos and Nigeria at large.
As-salaam-alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
On this blessed occasion of Mawlid al-Nabi, I extend my warm greetings to all Muslims in Kosofe Local Government Area as we commemorate the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This great day serves as a poignant reminder of the Prophet’s exemplary life, his teachings of compassion, and his unwavering commitment to j NJustice and peace. It is a time for us to reflect on his noble character and strive to emulate his virtues in our daily lives.
The Holy Quran reminds us of the significance of the Prophet’s mission in Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 21:
“لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا”
“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often.”
As we celebrate this day, let us renew our commitment to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Let us embrace the values of kindness, tolerance, and unity that he exemplified throughout his life. In these challenging times, his message of peace and brotherhood is more relevant than ever.
I encourage all members of our community to use this occasion as an opportunity for spiritual reflection, to strengthen our bonds with one another, and to rededicate ourselves to the service of humanity. Let us also remember those less fortunate among us and extend our hands in generosity and support.
