In her magnanimous style of promoting and celebrating cultural heritage with the Ikosi Isheri Ketu Magodo Annual Cultural Carnival, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada has reeled out year 2024 activities earmarked for the celebration before journalists and traditional leaders from the axis.
Newsconnect reports that year 2024 cultural carnival theme is christened ‘Our heritage, our pride; A Celebration of culture and heritage’.
Princess Samiat informed participants at the press briefing that the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, alongside many distinguished guests from Lagos and across Nigeria will be part of 2024 carnival.
According to Mayoress, the Ikosi Isheri Ketu Magodo Annual Cultural Carnival has always been a celebration of the beauty and diversity of their culture. She said with the support of Traditional Rulers, partner organizations, stakeholders, and the media, they are confident that this year’s event will set a new standard for cultural celebrations in her community.
In her welcome salvo at the event, she said;
“It is with great joy that I stand before you today to announce the Ikosi Isheri Ketu Magodo Annual Cultural Carnival 2024, themed: “Our Heritage, Our Pride: A Celebration of Culture and Unity.”
“This theme represents the rich traditions that define us as a community and unite us through our shared identity. This year’s celebration promises to be a vibrant event that will bring us all together in harmony and joy.
“This carnival is particularly special as we are honoured to have His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, joining us, along with many distinguished guests from Lagos and across Nigeria.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to our sponsors for their generosity and support. Your investment in our community and cultural heritage is truly appreciated, and I am certain that your involvement in this carnival will bring great value and recognition to your organization.
“This two-day carnival promises to be an extraordinary celebration filled with music, dance, art, and joy, resonating throughout our community and beyond. - Parade of various Ethnic Groups from the Council Secretariat, Ikosi, to the CMD venue in a festive atmosphere.
- Opening Ceremony: Governor and other dignitaries.
