The President of a non-governmental organization The Press Society (TPS) Elias Abayomi Adagunduro had opined that ignorance of Tinubu’s landmark achievements in his one year in office as Nigeria President among other things culminated to why protesters are on the streets in Nigeria.
Newsconnect reports that Elias in a press statement signed by him on behalf of The Press Society opined that what people don’t know, they can’t tell. He said yes there is inflation and hardship in Nigeria and across the globe as reports have it. However, ignorance of the landmark achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria President in one year by many protesters culminated to one of the excuses of protesters demonstrating their franchise on the street have.
He thereby urged government in the ministry , department and agencies in the Federal, State and local Governments working for Tinubu’s Administration progress to use various social and digital media handle which fit with the appetite of the different categories of protesters aforementioned to inform the public about the good works Tinubu has done and about to do for the masses. This won’t only inform them, but they will also be able to track and monitor development plans as responsible citizens.
In his words, he said ;
“While some people are conscious and committed towards seeking relevant information by themselves, some people are triggered to act only when they hear or get useful information. We have the doubting Thomas’s to information, no matter how hard one tries to convey an important message to them, they will never pay rapt attention. Some would doubt and later believe while some would remain perpetual doubting Thomas.
“We have all these aforementioned categories of people among the protesters and non protesters of #endbadgovernance protest in Nigeria. Dear Nigerians, let me join Nigerians of good conscience to reiterate for the umpteenth time that in our struggle for an egalitarian society, we must first have a country that will promote our fundamental human rights. Without a country, there can’t be protest demonstration, we have to collectively ensure peace and tranquility to do that, we have to obey law and order.
“Undoubtedly, there is inflation and hardship in Nigeria and across the globe as reports have it. However, ignorance of the landmark achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria President in one year by many protesters culminated to one of the excuses of protesters demonstrating their franchise on the street.
